Ever feel like you don't really know the city you live in? We've lived in London for some 20 years and still have so much to discover and learn about this amazing city!

THE WALK

Our City Session walks will help you get to know London on a new level with our 2 hour / 2 mile meet ups, as we meander with Meg from A - B. Absorb history, history of art & architecture in small private groups and enjoy new levels of understanding and appreciation. Whether you're visiting London on a city break or a local Londoner, these trips are perfect for meeting new people and having a fun cultural experience.

Join us for our inaugural walk on February 8th. A two mile walk starting and ending in Borough. We'll finish with a wander around Borough Market.

Frequently asked questions

Where in Cornwall is the retreat?

All of our UK, Cornwall retreats are on the north coast. The perfect place for surfing and stunning coastal walks with views out across the Atlantic.

Is travel to the retreat included in the price?

Travel is not included in the retreat price. Please let us know if you need any help arranging travel.

What is the nearest station or airport?

All of our retreats are based between Watergate Bay and Mawgan Porth, with the nearest station being Newquay.

Travel by :

~ Direct train from London Paddington in approx 4.5 hours to Bodmin Parkway (35 minute taxi to accommodation) You can also change to arrive at Newquay (15 minute taxi to accommodation)

The train journey from London is very scenic and we would highly recommend it as a great way to ease into the retreat. Catch up on those last emails, read, or just take in the coastline and arrive feeling relaxed and ready to enjoy your weekend.

~ By plane from London Gatwick to Newquay airport (15 minute taxi to accommodation)

I'm a beginner surfer is that ok?

Yes definitely! Many of our guests have never tried surfing before and our instructors will tailor the sessions to suit your ability and make sure you feel confident in the water. If you're a beginner surfer you will start in the shallows, only moving further out when you're ready and happy to do so.

I have no yoga experience, can I join?

All of our activities require a basic level of fitness - the level within the group will vary and we will always give modifications for yoga and individual goals for surfing. Our main aim is for everyone to feel relaxed and have a good time.

I'm not a very confident swimmer, is that ok?

Surf lessons for beginners always begin in the shallow white water, so you will never be more that waist height. Whilst you do not need to be a super strong swimmer, we do require that everyone taking party is able to swim 50 metres to ensure confidence and safety within the group.

Can I book in extra surf sessions?

Yes of course. We can book in extra sessions, at a cost, though timings are tide dependent so it can't always be guaranteed.

I think I would rather body board, is that possible?

Yes of course, easily arranged, just let us know at the time of booking.

Do I need to bring any equipment with me?

All our surf and SUP lessons provide all needed equipment. The surf schools all provide good quality wetsuits and even have super warm gloves and booties to keep you toasty on the Autumn Weekend Retreats.

I've never done yoga before, does it matter?

Definitely not. Our yoga teachers are experts at modifying moves for different levels, and in fact, being more experienced at yoga doesn't always mean more flexibility. Yoga is very much about tapping into what feels right for your body. Bare in mind that these sessions are designed to relax at the end of the day; Yin yoga, gentle and perfect for stretching out those muscles after a day in the surf.

I have allergies, will you be able to cater for me?

Absolutely. We've had all sorts of dietary requirements over the years and are used to catering for them all. Please let us know at the time of booking.

What is the average age of the group?

Over the years we've had Riders from 20 up to the age of 70. Everyone is welcome and super friendly so don't let age put you off!

Do you have many solo travellers on your retreats?

Yes we do. The vast majority of our guests are solo travellers looking to connect with like-minded people, try something new, get away from the everyday and truly relax.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes! Our trips are perfect for solo travellers or small groups of friends - perfect for a friendmoon.

Do I have to join in with all the activties?

No, not at all. Whilst we love for everyone to be involved with all the activities, we also totally appreciate that this is time away for yourself, as well. You can opt out of any of the activities during the weekend, many guests do so.

Who is the main point of contact during the weekend?

All of our weekends are fully hosted by incredible women who have worked for Ride On Retreats for over 7 years. They live locally, are experienced retreat hosts and nurturing yoga instructors. If you need help with anything over the weekend, just ask, we are here to make sure you have the best and most relaxing weekend possible.
